Johanna Bertin is a freelance writer who makes her home in Smithfield, New Brunswick. Her book reviews, feature articles and essays have appeared in publications across Canada.
She developed her love of Canadian history when removing newspapers used to insulate the walls of her 19th century farmhouse. Here were fascinating tales of people and events that had never appeared in any textbook. It is these stories that Johanna chooses to tell: the tales of everyday people whose lives tell us much about Canada and the spirit of Canadians.
When Johanna isn’t writing, she works as a medical social worker in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
